We are absolutely thrilled to announce that Houston & Hawkes had the incredible honour of catering the iconic Lord Mayor’s Show in November 2024! This year’s theme, “Growth – boosting the City through our diverse communities, innovative tech, and a renewed spirit of ambition,” perfectly encapsulates the vibrant essence of London, and we couldn’t be prouder to be part of it.
For this year’s event, we crafted a menu that surpasses mere food—it’s a true celebration of London itself! Drawing inspiration from the city’s rich tapestry of cultures, we highlighted the finest British ingredients while embracing the diverse flavours that make our city so unique. Our mission was to create a dining experience that delights the senses and tells a story of community and innovation.
The hamper menu featured an array of exquisite dishes, including Forman’s smoked trout with celeriac and apple remoulade, topped with Beluga caviar, showcasing the quality of British seafood. We also starred a curried guinea fowl ballotine served on naan bread with mango and nigella seed chutney, blending traditional British flavours with a hint of Asian influence. A standout dish was our jerk spiced pork, onion, and plantain sausage roll with pineapple chilli chutney, which brought a taste of the Caribbean to the heart of London. To round off the culinary experience, guests indulged in a decadent black fig frangipane tart with Cornish clotted cream and a matcha macaroon, rounding off our hamper with a touch of sweetness.
Our team went above and beyond to design a menu that reflects the vibrant flavours of London’s diverse communities, all with a distinctly British twist. Each dish was crafted using locally sourced produce, showcasing the incredible talent of our local producers and artisans. We paid meticulous attention to every detail—from the menus to the packaging—ensuring that our offerings aligned seamlessly with the ambition and spirit of the Lord Mayor’s Show. We couldn’t be more proud of our teams hardwork and dedication to pull such a successful event.
